Its very sad when our parents are at that stage.
We have done the LPA for my parents (dad and his wife) while they were able to sort it themselves.
Mother is all under control as well - apart from her mouth, when i showed her the cake i made for her yesterday, she said it was no wonder i was fat if i ate cake like that !

More sad for Mr Carp than me, although I love her and hate seeing her like this (and also feel very mean, because I find her exasperating sometimes and it's not her fault). He feels like he's already lost his Mum on some levels, and a bit like having another child to look after.

LPA is a very practical and useful step. When Mum had her stroke in 2004 it made things so much easier that my brother had LPA.
