Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I am supping what is described as a Hazy Pale Ale. I would be pushed to tell it apart from a NEIPA. I think if I were pushed I'd say the difference is not quite enough fruit, not quite strong enough, and not quite 'thick' enough. Pretty good. In fact it's a homebred that won a comp to be professionally brewed and sold locally....

I’m envious. I went out to a birthday party at an Indian restaurant, great food but Kingfisher lager, I’m not adding that to my list!

Just discovered this thread, checked my Untappd account, and found that I've drunk 52 different beers so far this year! Top rated (full 5 stars!) is 'Bitter Simonds 1880' from the Kernel Brewery. A perfect classic bitter with a modern kick. Most recent first-try was BrewDog's Black Heart, which is a tasty Guinness knock-off, but no Guinness.

Very good. I think this is my favourite thread. Doesn't mean I come in here all the time but I like looking over other people's beers from other places.

Spent a happy bank holiday Sunday dodging the lads (lads lads) on the Bermondsey Beer Mile. Visited 3 of the best: Anspach & Hobday, Cloudwater, and The Kernel (Moor was closed). Highlight of the trip was another Kernel beer, Export Stout London 1890. Though A&H's Londorado Best Bitter (on nitro) was a very close second.

Probably down to the cost of a pint nowadays, I rarely visit pubs to try out new beers - unless I am on holiday. Any new beers that I order or receive to try out are usually pinched by my wife as friends' birthday gifts.

I had a pint of Coronation Golden Ale after voting tonight, Milestone. Slightly above average. I then had a Pale Ale from Abbeydale that was very good indeed.

I wonder how many Coronation Ales we will get through?

About This Thread

Maintained by Ocelot Spleens
and here we are in 2025....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise, besides it's quality I prefer not volume.

Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2025, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.

Also interesting to see how variable local areas are!
