We are doing Wokingham half, just as a training run in the lead up to Rotterdam marathon, I don't particularly like London marathon having done it twice.

Duchess does a great job of volunteering and supporting at ultras around Scotland and gives up a lot of time and energy to help others. She's also a very determined runner herself and keeps pushing herself to get better. But I accept it's always subjective and the site is *very* big now, so not everyone knows of everyone. Hopefully a 1500er will get it next time. G

I hate London as well having done it 3 times. The only nice thing was the toilets when I ran off the elite start.
This year I am coaching so there as support for a runner.
MrsG - we have a social after Wokingham if you guys are interested.

Huntsman, I did do a bit of running during Quadzilla which allowed the lady to clean our room.
Newark half marathon entries open on Wednesday for the 14th August my target race and I'm going to win.
Fact!

Is that Newark half on actual roads rather than the one I did just before Christmas last year which was through cow infested marshes, WW?

I believe its a revival of the old race, the new cow infested marsh run jabber speaks off added some confusion to the matter (it confused me too) BUT I do believe its a revamp of the old road race. Course is released the same time as entry and website go live, its been advertised as " Renaissance of the Newark Half Marathon"
I work in Newark, its hard to find a good hill for my lunch time runs, infact I think Newark just has one hill that's worth a mention and that woukd be Becon Hill, this forms part of the vista view from my desk.
Also, don't let the new start venue name mislead you "Sconce Hills Park" is the same location of Newark parkrun with just one small incline here and I am pretty sure they wont send 1000 people around that.
To be fair, I think you may have a race on WW, this may be my target race too, just need to confirm with the boss see if she wants to do it too.
