Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Notes & Comments

Summer Solstice 10k Grantham Way

The start line did sound like what I remember Nick Anderson describing as one of the most moany places on earth - from " oo the pollen is high" , "oo it's hot and muggy" to my personal moan " had a week of stupid 12-14 working hours and absolutely pooped"

Personal expectations time wise were to get round (please see tiredness moans above in fact if I hadn't offered to drive I had fleetingly considered just having an early night!). However, no offical times out yet but pretty sure have a PB - albeit pretty marginal....

Thoroughly enjoyed this Friday night out!! The set up was really good. Helpful, friendly marshalls. Lovely course. Undulating, pictoresque and all on road, so easy under foot. Tried hard on this run. Only gripe was would have loved to have grabbed a water for cooling at the water stop but it was too slow and too congested there and didn't want to lose time!!! Great to see a 400m to go marker and a fab goody bag at the end. As well as the food and water, a super bottle of locally brewed beer and a glass - fantastic! Hope to sample that tonight :-)

On reflection I think the best local race I have done - on the list for next year!

Some great PBs and seasons best from team Werrington - well done guys!

Question to myself is - can I crack 50 mins?? How bothered am I to achieve that versus how hard to work if at all feasible...hmmm - not sure.....

Well done CK, great new PB, marathon training paying back now. You don't need water stops on a 10k evening race though :-) we never have them on Tuesdays, just run through and you get to the finish quicker!! Thanks so much for driving, so I could enjoy the wonderful real ale!!
Javthrower
Great time. Marathon training paying off on short distances. If you pick the right race, re course, number of runners etc sub 50 is definitely on. You nearly cracked it a few years ago and you are have more quality training and experience to use. Go for it!
piggysquealer
Bloomin marvellous CK, what a great race!
Marts
Brilliant time. Sub 50 is on for sure.
