Notes & Comments

Fenland 10. Back to normal Fenland weather after last years freak calm day! Had a go at getting somewhere near my PB and it was going OK up to 6, but as usual I couldn't keep the pace up into the wind. Still, a pretty solid run in the conditions, wish I had known there was a V50 in front of me though, never seen this guy before, but then I would have had to PB to beat him, which I wasn't going to do in those conditions.

8th place in 58:51.

well done John, nice running! Last time I did it I decided to make sure I was with stronger runners when we turned into the wind, which was a great plan, except that they were stronger and by the time I turned into the wind, I was on my own and knackered!

Pretty much the same with me today Bob, I was running on my own for all the hard miles at the end. I don't understand how they just keep running at the same pace into the wind! Ian, me too! I was only 2 seconds down on last years time at 6 miles, but then struggled in the wind. As soon as we got out of it I went back to a 5:45 mile to finnish.

Thanks Matt, the journey passed very quickly today with you and Stephan's company.

Well done John, great time in what sounded like difficult conditions. Perhaps we should have been running into the wind on those TT Wednesday nights for the practice!
