Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

P&D w9 D2: 10 mi MLR with 5x 30 s sprints and 2 bonus traffic lights

10 miles on the plan today. I wasn't sure what to do when I got an email about the course change for the race this Saturday. So I decided to do a course recon in the park and invite Olivia to run 2 laps with me. We meet at the start of the race course and ran two laps together, the first nice and easy, then we did some strides that were on Olivia's plan. I tested my new shoes at faster paces on uneven ground. The first two strides I was a bit cautious but then I decided that I felt secure enough to go for it and hit some seriously fast paces. Garmin gave me 2:41 min/km (4:19 m/m) top end speed. I can't remember when I hit that pace the last time, probably in high school? It's a 100m pace of 16.1 s and my PR back then aged 18 was 14.7 s after practicing for a while. Interesting data. I think it's going to be worth looking into this after the marathon.

Overall, it was a fun session with some seriously fast running. I may have shocked Olivia a little with the first faster one but then she focused and gave me a run for my money on the final stride. We were both wearing our new super shoes so they got a proper baptism of fire 🔥👟 very happy with 10 miles and some speed.
