Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

23. Störmthaler See Lauf 10 km
This was a difficult one. I had a bit of DOMS from the half marathon yesterday and I had to hurry on the bike because I was running a bit late due to some technical issues. Luckily, it all got sorted out in the end with the help of Sven and Kati and I arrived on time in the end, 30 minutes before the start. It was pretty warm already, 25°C in the shade and 34 in the sun; the organising committee had a thermometer at the start and finish in the sun. Besides the first km in the woodlands around the sports grounds, it was all very exposed so I mentally prepared to be cooked. I took my bike bottle on the run and I was glad I had it. The first 2 km were really slow, my legs felt like after the bike leg of a triathlon and I needed some time to get going. I played it safe and ran rather conservatively, finishing in 54 minutes which is pretty slow by my standards but good enough for the day. I didn't expect to finish on the podium so I was very surprised to find my name on top of F40. The prize was pretty cool, a tote bag with a picnic blanket and a frisbee in it. I'm beach ready 😊

Well done tipsku.

Thanks guys. It was hot and I was sore from the half the day before. Also, cycling to the venue was like doing a triathlon; my legs needed 2 km to get going. Still, I'm happy with the time on the trails with some challenging bits. Race report coming later
