Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Wimpole parkrun, first visit here in ages. Whole new fancy car park.

Disappointing. Could consistently run the old summer route faster than this in 2018, and maybe 30 seconds faster than that at Cambridge. To be two minutes slower than my best time this year says my form has evaporated. (10 seconds or so retying a shoelace doesn't make it look any better)

Oh no. How disappointing. Any other factors?
Badger
Tired, short on quality training since, coincidentally, exactly the point where my parkrun times started slowing up. Perhaps connected :) I have had a long standing target of knocking off my course best here which was on a week when the course was short to avoid cattle and I didn't dawdle enough to avoid it - it should be doable given how much I've knocked off parkrun times since then.
For context, it's largely trail and has a proper hill in it, it is genuinely a minute slower than the routes I've been doing lately, but it isn't two minutes slower (and I was targeting a minute slower than I could run on the flat in June which didn't seem unreasonable).
Next time maybe :)
LindsD
Try not to be too down. You know the causes. Annoying about the course being short that time.
Badger
It's fine, I was briefly cross about it but disappointing rather than dreadful is all really; this was a convenient weekend to try rather than one where I was really on form for it. I volunteer regularly at another local parkrun so don't get to this one much!
LindsD
Fair enough. There will be other Saturdays.
