Notes & Comments

Fenland 10. Wasn't sure how this would go after doing the GER last week. But wanted to try for a pb (John Fraser 10 6th Sept). So, I knew I had to do 9:45 averages.

Once again I started off a little too quickly albeit slightly slower than at the GER. So, at miles 4 and 5 I deliberately tried to slow down - which was partly successful.

The second water station was in mile 7 and I stopped to walk for probably half a minute (deliberately just to get myself set mentally and physically for the remaining 3 miles). Then I just legged it (frankly). So, to stay under 10 for that mile is quite something. Pleased that the final mile was the quickest - the legs just wanted to go for it!
A great pb by more than 2:30 and managing to control my pace during the race was great.

People said how flat and boring this race was and that there was always a headwind but I didn't particularly find either to be the case - so maybe we were lucky.
Really pleased with this one. Not a 10m/m in sight!!!
