Foxy I went out to Florence & met up with Babette who i had previously met @ the Paris marathon. She was carrying a knee injury & I couldn't leave her to struggle around on her own, we both got round inside 4 & 3/4 hours & ran through some beautiful plaza's. The start is breathtaking up high on a hill overlooking the city, Il duomo the cathedral dominating the skyline & the Ponte Vecchio bridge to the right. Starting high up meant 3 miles downhill to start the event. The organisation at the expo was poor due to problems with doctors letters - 3 people collected numbers whilst over 100 circled the aptly titled

Mad Dogs and Englishmen Did this 2 years ago, will probably do it again in 2 years time. Just about my favourite marathon so far, wonderful route, beautiful city, what more can I say! Shame I'm not as fit as I was 2 years ago and still carrying that darn injury.
