Pericles A very disappointing time (I was convinced I was in shape for 1:28 or better) - mitigated a bit by difficult conditions. A very stiff headwind through the long, straight middle miles, and hot too. First mile was much too fast (6:15! - but felt so easy), and after that it seemed easy to keep with 6:35 miles until about 5 miles when the wind hit. Slowed right down and never really picked it up again properly. Having said that, I don't think I was overtaken, and I overtook several others around mile 12. Apologies to those who bet!
