Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

paul the builder The dream scenario - something around 3:45 here, to complete a summer of marked improvement and PBs over 2006, my first year at this funny old game.... UPDATE - actually, now officially going for a sub 3:30. Gulp.... RESULT!!! I thoroughly enjoyed that, and am thrilled with 3:28:57 - a 28 minute PB. Settled in to target pace pretty well early on, around 4:50 min/km (km markers are lovely, they come around so frequently!). Felt good up to halfway, and bang on target at 1:43:30 ish there. The second half was a real battle though, physical and mental, but I managed to have 'only' a 2 minute positive split. No real bad spell at all - around 22 miles, I think I had 3 tricky kilometres at around 5:10 each, but gritted my teeth and came through it OK.
Venice is a really fine course - well supported, flat, with the first half along a road beside a winding river going though small towns, the obligatory indutrial estate for a couple of miles at half way, then through the city of Mestre, 3 or so miles around a park, then the long long long bridge out to Venice, and finally the most beautiful finshing couple of miles you can imagine. Loved it.
