JammyHL 6 am start in mist and gusty winds. 200 solo runners and 35 relay members meant single file for first few hundred metres. First water stop and first checkpoint well inside target of 9min/km pace. Then pain in left knee slowed me down. Made first cut off with 40mins to spare, second with only 35 mins (8:25 hours). Final 12 miles took 4:50 hours instead of predicted (optimistic?) 3! Amazing support throughout the race from Frieds ( my wife) and fellow runner Carolyn. Wouldn't have completed without their backing. Big up to Dave for gritting his teeth and hobbling through a twisted ankle to still finish.
