About this parkrun
After a start at the castle portcullis, there are two large laps and two small laps in the castle grounds. A few small climbs, but nothing to worry about.Zeb 9th Jan 2019
Easy parking, but allow time to walk to the start (inside the castle walls). large then small laps, tarmac and trail. Road shoes the better choice.

Undulating run on the castle grounds, surface mostly gravel paths, some tarmac around the castle. Start and finish at the castle. 2 large loops followed by 2 small loops. I mostly ran it in road shoes, switched to trail shoes when it was muddy.

Start in front of the castle. 2 big loops turn left at the castle followed by 2 small loops turn right. On undulating gravel paths, keep left as quite a loo of overtaking. Free parking :

This is in my top 3 (out of 89 events). Stunning place to run. I can't say I found the ups easy, it felt a tough course. Quite a small event, plenty of parking, great volunteers. I ran in road shoes and they were perfect for the course.

A good run around the castle. 2 big followed by 2 small laps. All ok good undulating paths. When we went the castle itself was closed as was the tea room but I think this is unusual. Free parking and toilets by the start.
