Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Pierre Updated now I've got my official time - quite pleased with this - first time I've run a race for quite a while, didn't think I was up to finishing in this time. Happy with my pace - good start, bit of a slow 4th K but battling the

sanddancer How the hell did I get a PB feeling the way I did?! So nearly pulled out of this one after a night without any sleep whatsoever. I also felt a bit queasy just for good measure. Just before the race I decided that I wouldn't push the time. In the event, I ran the first km 'blind' without ever checking my pace... my anticipated 6 minute split ended up being 5:06 which was rather faster than PB pace. Having done that I felt obligated to keep it going but it was like running uphill through treacle. Nevertheless, each subsequent split was respectable, keeping my overall pace on target for a PB. The fourth and fifth kms felt particularly hard and with 0.5km to go, my bursting lungs felt like they could do no more. Somehow I managed to finish without walking for a new PB by 22 seconds. Kilometre splits: 5:06, 5:35, 5:33, 5:46, 5:45.
