Agent Orange Lovely event. First run timed at 22.16. Was too cautious and started a bit too far back (so actual watch time was 21.50). Then onto the bike and I exceeded my expectations with 51.50 time, despite a couple of challenging crosswinds. Began the second run alongside another guy - looking at the comments I think that was Cstar - and we pushed each other on to 22.16 for the last run. Total time of 1:38:19 and 56th out of 170 - much better than I thought I'd manage.

CStar Really nice local low key duathlon. Everything from £multi-thousand bikes to sit up and beg. Hillier than expected and a cold wind. Pleased with the first run, bike was ok but lack of bike fitness showed on some of the hills and 2nd run was fine. Toe clip pedals rather than clipped shoes meant huge time savings in transition. Definitely worth it for this distance. Lesson learned from Dinton Pastures . R1 20:42, T1 0.24, B 54.36, T2 0.21, R2 22.14 :-) No medal was a shame, but not the end of the world.

Running Fish bit on the short side for me. body was just about waking up at the finish. must do more speedwork.
