activeight A great race. Didn't get much sleep on the field next to the railway station, but heyhoo. The swim was a mass start resembling frogs orgying for the first bit, but I soon found some space. The bike was flat but hot. Drank a good amount and had a bit of fun trying to get my food off the bike. (Brake cable)!! The run was very sapping. Drank and poured water over myself as much as possible and had gel at soon as I started then another at 5 miles and a caffeine gel at about 7 miles. Took time to feel the gels but the caffeine one helped a little. A fun time and pleased to have got a better time than I anticipated, especially in the heat.
