Toks here i go again :-) Update of race - Unfortunately I DNF the challenge which i was disappointed about but am happy to have reached the 40 mile mark in 11hours and 50 minutes. I didn't train that much for the challenge like last year and so i found it difficult this year. I am happy to be part of the event. Mike and the organisers are very supportive of all the runners. i will be back next year battling it out again as this now my favourite ultra marathon. i see my glass as half full and not half empty. i really did struggle with the decision of ending it on the 6th lap, as i wanted to carry on but my back was in so much pain and i could hardly run straight, i was holding my back all the time. i could have collapse on the course, if i continue any further. i wouldn't want the organisers be worry after me in that manner and so the sensible decision was to quite while i was thinking clearly. while i was on my sixth lap, a fellow fetchie called purley encouraged me to run a bit, to keep the muscle moving but i just could not run anymore as the soles of my feet was screaming in agony and my back had gone at that point. but thanks for the inspiration. so while approaching the end of 6th lap, i knew i could not survive the 7th lap and decided to call it a day. as i said earlier i am happy to have done 6th laps out of 8th. thanks mike and the team for making the event memorable and I WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR, I LOVE THIS EVENT :-)
