Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Dirk This was my first race and found it a great experience to partake in. I was surprised at the turn out of runners and supporters and once the race got underway was pleasantly surprised by my ability to keep up (i've only been running since January). I kept my pace well although tired towards the end and had to walk back through the uphill woody bit which was disappointing (but I wasn't the only one!), but finished what I think in my first race was respectable 262 out of 350-ish so i'm happy. I also beat all my work colleagues back too, so well chuffed with that!

TecT Was hoping for anything under 45 mins for this, my first race back from injury. Pretty happy with 43.24, and no reaction from the leg. :)

themookid Tough course but excellent varied terrain through woods down hill, long up hill on estates and road, around farm tracks and a killer last mile back up through the woods and roads.

I felt ok and on target throughout, working hard to keep the miles under around 6:20-6:25. Then came the woods which I decided to attack! Legs got me through the woods but couldnt recover as we continued up the hill to the finish - lots of guys coming past me now and desperate to see the turn to the finish. Knowing my club coach (peter) was going to be very close behind but not daring look around, I managed to find some speed when the road flattened out to the grass track and the finish. Under 33 minutes (pb) and Peter 1 place (!) behind me. Excellent. That last mile is worth 40 seconds at least I should think, so am confident I can get close to 32 now. Bring on next Friday!
