Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

DANBERT I did this in 2003 and really enjoyed it. It was 'tough' but it was run over a beautiful traffic-free forest trail course (the green cycling route in a clockwise direction i think.) The course was over wide, well-surfaced (not tarmac) man-made forest trails with tremendous views of the lakes. The first two miles were hilly (although described as undulating by Ambleside AC. ) To be honest the course had stretches of climbing throughout. For my money this has to be one of the most scenic traffic free course in the country. I was a lot fitter in 2003 than i am now though!!!!!

holmsey Not a bad race although the forest tracks were all stony vehicle roads as opposed to foot/bridlepaths with a variety of surfaces.Still, had a goodish run and the weather was spot-on.

Kev Scone Nice to do a good time, particurlarly with a bad cold, set off far too quick though, first two miles in 15 minutes (was downhill i suppose but took another few miles to find my pace after that) Fantastic views

Stepford Wife Not sure where my legs were today but they weren't present on the hills. Spent the last 4 miles running with a lass called Sue which helped greatly, and the short last mile helped even more! Ok course, lovely weather.
