Phil_N Went off far too quickly from the start. Had a twinge in my back which made for some uncomfortable running in the middle section and slowed me right down. Really enjoyed the descent from Grindslow Knoll and managed to gain a few places that I lost earlier on. Still room for improvement and will be back next year after a bit more training.

WillBill Well, that went better than expected! Started very steadily - loads of people came past - but I was able to pick my way through the field as the gradient increased. It was good to get to a point where I could run at my own pace though & I slowly made ground on the group in front. Overhauled these slowly but surely on the run along the top and found myself in second place (Phil W, the leader, was way, way ahead). Ran over Grindsbrook Knoll, trying to look good for the cameras, and set about the descent: down the path rather than the short-cut down steep, slippery grass, and tried to maintain pace on the run-in, nice path and then a horrible bit of road. Sorry to have missed you Sophster & Phil N. Hope you enjoyed it.
