Culzean Fun Run - Long Race

daviec Brilliant day for a race. Warm but not too warm. This was my first time running this local race which had nearly 300 entrants. The route is challenging, starting with a long climb up a moderate hill setting the tone for the rest of the route. Mainly woodland trails with some tough climbs and some fast downhill sections. My garmin measured it at 5.21 miles but it was lost amongst the tree cover most of the way. I got a good start and setlled in 5th, with 4th place just ahead. For 4 miles we swapped places a few times and I never lost sight of 3rd place who seemed to be slowing a bit at times. Both of those guys finished strong and I was happy to come with a solid 5th place finish. Official time was 33:50.

connelld Slightly disappointed in this run. Expected to run more than 15 seconds faster than year. Brilliant day though.

Sunbed Athlete Won it for the 2nd year in a row.Young Roger from JWK was close on my heels.Was right up with me just before 1st mile but was still hanging on.Good run by him. Course was exact same as previous year.Warm day it turned out to be.Was looking for around the 30 min mark considering ive no done speedwork since mid Feb & with London Marathon still in my legs & with just a fortnight past it turned out good.Daviec/Connelld/StephenACE26/magtag/Ruth/Hamsterwheel were there to. Excellent wee race.Well organised.I ran 29:22 last year so happy enough.

Hamsterwheel Happy with the result with this being only my second race, I am improving so thats all I can ask for.

Roadrunner Bark A Great Family fun run around Culzean castle grounds with breathtaking Scenic views!!, was a very warm day and I got a good time and finished in a thrilled 3RD Overall.
