Alex Patton 12/268 - An absolutely wonderful race - thankyou so much to Vale of Aylesbury AC for keeping it alive. I'd even go so far as to say that this is possibly my favourite event out of the 30-odd I've run since I started back running again 9 months ago (well, south of Birmingham at least!). I was slightly sceptical when the website described it as one of the south's only fell races, but it had all the necessary elements - glorious views, a hill that it was faster to walk rather than run up, a fast technical downhill section, a few stiles, a finish in a lovely green field and perhaps most importantly, free beer and food at the end. As for my race, I judged pace on the first hill fairly well and must have been something like 18th at the top, I made up quite a few places on the steep down and up that followed before a fairly uneventful run-in where I picked off one more. Fell shoes were definately the right choice, espeically given the previous night's thundery downpours which made it quite soft under foot.

Muds 26th Sl shorter than previous years. Well organised. The race has been transferred into safe hands. Slipped off last stile, grazes and damaged pride :( Collected prize for 1st V50 :) Another great morning in Wendover.
