tinebeest It was very very windy and rather wet. First mile is gently downhill followed by steeper uphill. Just at the foot of the hill the heavens opened and it was pelting down rain. I held my hands in front of my face and just kept on running, I even overtook a few people. but then they'd stopped running altogether to take shelter. I missed the first mile marker, then came the second and I thought blimey! I'm already feeling exhausted. I got chatting with somebody, helped to pass the 3d mile, although we got passed by a few people. The final mile contained a gentle slope where I overtook another person but got overtaken myself by somebody else, then a downhill section where I legged it as fast as I still could, and then the final sneaky uphill bit along a winding minor road. It's only a few hundred yards but it seems to last forever; I tried to put on a bit of a sprint on the flat bit to the finish and clocked off in 40'46
