northernslowcoach first attempt at this, will be a family event - well, it is christmas! Great fun in the cold and mud! very well organised, great support especially at the top of the hills and a good t-shirt! beat my bro in law so chuffed with that ;O)

AddledAdder Did this one last year for the first time and loved it. What will the weather be like this year? Benign and cold, with lovely solid conditions underfoot, or mild and gloopy...UPDATE: Mild and a little gloopy - not as bad as a week ago where the final fields were shin deep mud. Great fun, as ever, lots of support, and a PB to boot. Inov-8's were the way forward compared to last time, and the wife's chrimble present of an neopreme (?sp) ankle support sock made up for the lack of support in the shoe. This is the first time the family has come out and supported me - luckily they were positioned at the bottom of a hill so I was going quite fast, rather than at the top of one of those little blighters. Lost a few seconds trying to take a t-shirt off from under my vest on a downhill, but still got overtaken by three bananas...

BigG Only slightly quicker than I was in the same race two years ago. Conditions were more difficult and shoelace came undone. I also did tough training runs in the two preceeding days, which might explain it.
