Dave_K Not raced a 5k for ages. Update...... Really enjoyed this despite running with eyeballs out !!! Pleased with my time (only 9 secs off my PB) and how my legs felt afterwards. Good to see Dvorak again. Spotted other Fetchies about too. Overall a good evening.

Dvorak A*%e duly run off :-) A good race in nice surroundings in perfect conditions. Started near back, wove through quite a few in first K, despite that, behind target at 5:30 K1; cheeky wee rise, a bit of ned heckling and Ks 2 and 3 were 5:15 each. Feeling it a bit, though. Back around the loch, a bit of human (non-race) traffic. Had clear space, though I'd tuck in a behind a couple of guys; however realised they were blowing out of their bahookies, and pressed on. 4K marker showed a 5:45K - bu**er, I've lost it. Might as well press on though, PB should still be on (2350 points bet!). This race gives you a long clear view of the finish and from about 600 out i decided to give it rrraarr! A couple of people sighted and passed, low fuel light is on with a bit to go, but made it to the end. Happy happy bouncy bouncy :-) Mate G ran as well, first race for a while, and his first exposure to (as he puts it) tinternet running geeks ;-). Saw a fair few Fetchies ( hi DaveK) including first time spot Shyfire. Then went to pub :-).

Gus I was very hot and sticky! Garmin time 31:46, just a new PB, whoo hoo. I'd forgotton about the wee undulations from last year. Nice to see lots of Fetchies and familiar faces. SO said at least you are consistently slow:) And again a great goody bag for a £2 entry fee, take note expensive races!
Since I went with garmin time last year, I'll stick with it this year, but I've beaten last year's offical times as well.

Vic Mason 100% on getting a PB. This will be my 2nd time doing this race and also 2nd time doing a 5K. I've certainly improved since last year so this should be a safe bet. ** UPDATE** Another PB in the bag, albeit there's certainly room for improvement. The previous 2 weeks rest from running didn't help matter much as my breathing was atrocious & legs felt heavy, that said I’m very pleased with my effort. Finishing position 6th/164. Good to see & meet a few new Fetchies. Well organised reace from my local club. Results & photo's can be found on http://www.kirkintillocholympians.co.uk/index.htm. Please check in a couple of days.
