Should Av Run Quicker 1st ever fell race so didn't know what to expect. Only had trail shoes so a bit slippy underfoot. I'm not used to walking which I did a few times up some ridiculous steep hills and sides of river banks. Made up places only when it got flat and downhill. Good fun, extremely hard work on a bag of peanuts.

WillBill Ran a fraction under 52mins in 2005. Ought to go better this year - but breaking in new shoes.
The shoes worked!!! Started steadily but soon got into the running and come the one big climb to Bowstones, I was starting to feel it. However, no sooner are you up the hill than there's lots of nice running on which to recover. Had a good tussle with a runner from Pennine from Bowstones onwards but he got past in the final half mile. Knowing the best lines went some way to accounting for finishing 6th.

Pinno Not the easiest of places to find seems like a lot of people spent the best part of 2 hours trying find it. The race itself was good with some very steep hill climbs and crags to work round. I was pleased with my time for this race as I did this race in road running shoes in wet, muddy, slippy conditions. The atmosphere was good and the race was well worth doing also the distance was more like 7 miles and not 8.
