Slow Going This was the first race I ever ran (last year, in 47:52) I fancy knocking 12-13 minutes of my course time this year - Update... This was my first run for 2 weeks due to a knee problem, it was also the first outing for a brand new pair of trainers. I set of at 6:55min/mile pace, but was wrecked by 1.5 miles (not sure whether this was due to the heat or recent lack of activity). I hung on, getting slower and slower and finished completely knackered. Good news is the knee was/is fine. I got lots of support from the family (who were all there) and a radiant water-station marshall (KatieB)
