Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Hi All

Planning to have a crack at my first marathon in June at Yeovil.

I can't seem to find many reviews of the 2015 race and just wondered if anyone has already run the course and can vouch for it a hilly course of not?

Many thanks
Claypole

I ran it last year, assuming it's the same course this year it's not hilly. It's flat with gentle undulations, quiet rural roads.

I'm doing it again this year so it can't have been that bad:-)

Ah I'm thinking of entering this if I'm in good shape coming into May and I've been struggling to find reviews of the race so it's nice to see the start of a thread on Fetch.

Shades it sounds like a pretty quick course as long as it's not too hot on the day.

Thanks Shades. Feeling a bit more relaxed about it now. :-)

I didn't have a good run at Yeovil last year, but that wasn't the fault of the race.

I did review it on RW, only 2 reviews. runnersworld.co.uk

I mentioned the goody bag so I probably scoffed the contents on the drive home

it's the heat that's my concern but there are just not many fairly flat marathons around Dorset. Bournemouth and North Dorset are both challenging courses.

Run by my second claim club, same route as last year and pretty flat for the area. It is a potentially quick course. Was the first time last year so hopefully any minor wrinkles will be ironed out this year.

Thanks for the feedback paul a.

I'll see how the next 4-6 weeks of training go and then if all is well I will enter pretty close to the closing date of 1st June. Only concerns I have are my hay fever and how hot it will be.

Happy to answer any queries. I know the route very well and the RD is a running friend of mine. It wasn't hot last year but being June in UK it could be any weather.

Would you say it was a bit quicker or much quicker than the North Dorset Village Marathon course?
