Its a rare winter event these days but running along a forrest trail through freshly laid snow (no footprints but your own) which is not deep to slow you up but solid enough to muffle the sound is just the best.
Oh and if its at night with a clear sky its just awesome.

I might not even break a sweat if it's cold enough. It's dark more. I run better in the dark and also, no one can see my bright red face. Comments like 'You must be dedicated/crazy to be out in this!' make me feel a very proud nutter.

Relating to all of these! For me...
Cold crispy sunny runs. Mud glorious mud. Extra helpings of comfort food. Not dying of dehydration (don't do so well in summer...) Off-roading in the dark.
