Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I trounced MrW 16 to ten last night. It helped that I got the first three questions right, that one of the rounds was on painkillers and the music round was on pop.

Hello, late to the thread as I watched the first ones on Tivo and was avoiding any possible spoilers. Is it time to mention how much I adore Victoria again? Yes, it is :-).

However, I watched both last night. Does this series of UC have more questions in it? It feels longer and I am getting absurdly high scores without feeling I am doing that well (3/3 on rice last night and I think on the pop round. Failed to recognise dogs in paintings. First appearance of Euler this series, though not as an answer.)

A passable OC, smashed the missing vowels. I'm usually pretty good but last night it was like they were magically revealed to me. With the exception of mis-seeing (like the team) a sexy red box (ahem).

Do any of you read Weaver's Week? A long running gameshow (in its widest sense) site. Caught up after not looking for a bit. Particularly liked the 2015 awards, featuring many things which had passed me by (well, the entire 2015 Hall of Fame, except for Taskmaster). Wild Things looks stupidly excellent, something between It's a Knockout and Takeski's Castle for plushies.

And that's the end of the first round proper. Wanted both teams to go through tonight - A Scottish team with Scottish students(!) and a London ex-poly who were engaging and real ie not poshoes. There seem to have been rather too many poshoes this series - perhaps they are reflecting the higher education of New Britain more accurately.

Not sure what was happening in the thinkbox tonght but I got 32 right in UC, possibly an all time high. And pretty sharp on OC as well (particularly good Victoria introduction tonight).

Not as good on OC tonight. A couple of weeks ago I basically nailed everything but got the Marathon question at three points this week - should have been shot not to get that one!

I watch every episode expecting to see people I know - a few of my friends have been on. OH and I are tempted to make up a team as we normally cream the missing vowels and that's where it's won and lost.

I got the marathon OC question right on the second clue as well. I would have been strict and not given them the points as they didn't say it was where they finished ;-)
