Or maybe they ended because they didn't add as many zeros to John Lunt's bank balance as 1,500 people at a sportive.
Either way, sorely missed winter fun back in the days before this new fangled Cycle Cross malarkey....

Ballbuster?
There was a guy from round here that was v good at the MTB/cross country winter series. Little Jim we knew him as*, although I think his name was Jim O'Donnell or somesuch. He wrote some excellent blog reports on them, usually finishing in the top t.hree
(*There were two Jim's locally who were both tri/duathletes. Big Jim and Little Jim, of course  )

Ballbuster.
A wonderful thing, and that was just the hoodie. They pulled the first weekend in March one which was the Charity Sheild-esque 'traditional curtain raiser' for race season. Not sure if November is still going, it certainly went on after they pulled March but wrong time of year etc.

Gerp - I did qualify for this in November as like all duathlon it is a winter /spring event however, the bugger put World and European events on whenever they like.
Really messes with my training blocks hence I'm stepping back from the Age Group Hero's after this year

Tro - they pulled March the year I finally wanted to do it.
Nov is cross season so the only duathlons I do from September are Worlds and Euros see post to Gerp above or I do offroad events
