A huge decision and not something to take lightly.
I entered my first 70.3 on a whim and it was hellish

I entered my first 140.6 on a whim and it was chuffing brilliant.
You just need to understand the challenge and prepare.

NB the 140.6 was entered before I’d done a 70.3

The trick was time to prepare TRO and to me that is not a whim. IN 2002 you could enter on a whim and have about 6 weeks
It may have been less, enjoyed it enough I did another a year later.

True that, the entry was on a whim but I had a year to prepare for the actual race and used the time properly.
