Morning.
Watted. First foray into the sweetspot in 2 and a half weeks: survived, but 15 odd watts off where I was pre illness. At least the comeback can now begin
There was Winter Olympics on Gym TV. The snowboard half pipe is deeply impressive. Everytime I see speed skating I think someone should give the poor sods a bigger track....
Gently runnage later.

Oh and there was Ice Hockey but no fights. Disappointing: a bit like watching Rugby but with no/uncontested scrums.

The important hockey was elsewhere - Northeastern University won the Beanpot for the first time in 30 years. Great days.

"...Rugby but with no/uncontested scrums." So, Rugby League then?

Rugby league's a good shout. Sort of rugby, but you are always aware some bits are missing.
Grep are you talking proper (ice) hockey with fights etc, or the other hockey with shinpads which was only proper hockey for 2 weeks in 1988 'where were the Germans - frankly, who cares'

Hockey, yes. Not to be confused with field hockey.

I was off work for the England v Australia match in the last Rugby League World Cup. Watched it with Mini Nico. We gave up after 10 minutes. No doubting they are tremendous athletes with excellent ball handling skills, but, and it's a big but, how many times can you watch 13 men stand in a line and run into each other?

I've had this conversation before - probably with nico and TRO.
I get rugby (union, obvs) and I get (american) football. What I don't get is some half-way-house between the two.
As Paulie Walnuts says, "No doubting they are tremendous athletes with excellent ball handling skills, but, and it's a big but..."

I'm the same with sevens. Like watching it at the Olympics, but as proud father of a forward, I can't stand watching the quick, little backs running round the outside to score thirty trys in every game.
