Springfield Striders RC AGM is a thing of beauty. 17 minutes this year.
2015 Chelmer CC AGM was the shortest since I joined in 2011. 2 hours dead.

Moaning all.
I bricked. It was very sweaty as I'd somewhat over-dressed for the occasion.
Gerp: no giving up running just yet. another month or so and it'll all be a distant memory. How's the foot holding up?

The foot is kind of trainer-specific Doog - I wore the 'wrong' pair last night. Annoyingly, everything else worked fine. Long run tomorrow - planning to wear the 'right' trainers and hoping for a good outcome. Six and a half weeks to Farnborough. It won't be pretty but I should get round okay/eventually.
I've got multiple instances of having my arse kicked by Glenn between now and then mind.

Just received the following text about tonight's running club track session. Scary stuff for a "drinking club that runs". Guy taking the session is an ex Team GB athlete.
I'll either be frighteningly quick at the jingle bells yokel mile on Saturday, or lying in an oxygen tent somewhere.....
Hi guys,
Tonight's track session will be a 5k based session which would be as follows:
Warm up Minimum 2 lap jog followed by Plyometric drills / stretches and strides
main session: 2 x 800m at mile pace (10min active recovery between reps) first 800m will be run together. Split group into 3 so everyone gets enough recovery between reps. *2 - 8 x 400m (2min30 sec active recovery)
warm down jog
*Number of reps depending on fitness and ability levels.

We (me and Argie) used to do that stuff at East Essex Tri track sessions. High knees, heel flicks, sidesteps, skipping, that sort of kidney.
