Didn't drown - Enjoyed myself far too much on the bike - Very slow jelly legged stagger

Might try different hydration strategy next time. Not sure the Brownlee brothers fuel up with 5 pints of Batemans the night before a race

Nice one Nico, any truth in the rumours that both Triathlon boxes and Staffies were banned from Transition....
A decent weekend here. Saturday was a brutal rogering from a Gobi/stiff Northerly combo in Yaaarrrrkkkshire, but great fun. May see if I can fit another trip in.
Yesterday was an event I've never done before, Bury St Edmunds to Clare trail race (point to point off roader of about 18 miles). Odd mixed crowd - some walkers, some hard core ultra types with packs etc as if it was MdS, some road runner types wondering why we were running across fields and through farms.
Great fun, as it turned out on a lovely day. Route ended up partly in Essex, past some very remote Farms that had not changed in 200 years with a very 'wrong turn' whiff about them. Feed stations were utterly lovely. Managed a decent, relaxed clip of about 8:10 a mile (excl some Holgs-esque dallying at aid stations grazing on some fine offerings). Given rolling off road terrain, legs were tired at the end so got a decent workout.
This morning I have dog slobbered, 2.3k, CSS stuff.

"Large" boxes and bags were not allowed next to the bike. A special storage area was marked off within the transition area to store them. Bike racks were ridiculously cramped, so good job really.
Staffies were allowed to roam free within transition
