Thanks for posting. I plan to try one out tomorrow rather than run on ice. Re audio. I turn audio off unless listening to spoken word ( radio or podcast ) definitely no music. Just my preference.
Goofee, I used to work in Holt as well and I've never heard that joke, but it's good! I was disappointed with my Holt virtual run, the weather was terrible, so I might re-do it in the summer.
Alice, how was the treadmill? I want to get one and put it in my garage, but a) I can't afford one and b) I don't have electricity in my garage!
BK, I agree, since posting the first video on here, I now only record virtual runs with 'natural audio', and then if anyone wants music they can plug in their headphones.
I’ve had a couple of half hour runs Blister, and today used your video to run some woodland trails. I really enjoyed it! Much better than staring at the screen willing the kms to tick by. It felt a little scary running that fast though - I was worried I was going to trip over Thanks again for sharing.
I'm glad to hear that Alice I've got some nice spring runs (with bluebells) that I plan to record in a few months.
Ah, I didn't think about the speed thing, I found virtual runs were always too slow, so I wanted to ensure I made some at a faster pace! Most of my videos are around 6.30-7 minute mile pace. I guess you could always change the playback speed on YouTube to say 0.75 (and mute the audio).
I can’t imagine how you managed to run at that speed whilst holding a camera without it wobbling and looking out for tree roots etc so you don’t fall flat on your face! Proper skill.
Haha, thanks, well it is bloody hard I'll tell you that! The reason it's not wobbling is that the camera is mounted on a gimbal (which also makes the combined weight something like a kilo - my left arm gets very tired!). The funny thing is that I tend to spend most of my time looking at the ground etc, watching where I am going while recording, but when I watch it back after, the run looks cleaner because the camera is fixed to the horizon.
