Ah, I covered the pots they're in with alpine grit, which stops the squirrels rooting in the pots

No idea why it works, but it does. Anything vulnerable now has grit on the top of the pots.

There you go. Crocuses are in the big pot (although you cannot see them!)

Rubbish photos, but pleased to see violets in the garden today. I will draw a veil over the fact that their location, along with all the weeds, is supposed to be a gravel path :-0
