Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

An old natural rock formation just another half mile is the Hemlock Stone. In folk lore it was thrown by the Devil from Castleton, 40 miles away, as the sound of the church bells had annoyed him.

Built in 1588, Bruce Wayne Manor or Wollaton Hall as it used to be called.

The standing stone, hemlock stone and wollaton hall can be visited by a 4 mile run, which also takes in

Remains of Bramcote Hills Hall, 1805 - 1966

the Memorial Garden, for the Holocaust.

The old Nottingham Canal , that carried the coal that made the Willoughby family rich enough to own Wollaton Hall.

Interesting stuff everyone. Leicester was occupied by the Romans so there’s a fair amount of stuff including the remains of an aqueduct.
