An old natural rock formation just another half mile is the Hemlock Stone. In folk lore it was thrown by the Devil from Castleton, 40 miles away, as the sound of the church bells had annoyed him. broxtowe.gov.uk |

The standing stone, hemlock stone and wollaton hall can be visited by a 4 mile run, which also takes in Remains of Bramcote Hills Hall, 1805 - 1966 the Memorial Garden, for the Holocaust. The old Nottingham Canal , that carried the coal that made the Willoughby family rich enough to own Wollaton Hall. |

Interesting stuff everyone. Leicester was occupied by the Romans so there’s a fair amount of stuff including the remains of an aqueduct. |
