Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Hehe! To me "opening" is the opening in my hedge I made last year, to create my new entrance, also an opening, ready for the opening of my business!

1. Opening

aka introduction .. welcome to my Treasure Hunt blog, with thanks to westmoors.

Openings and barriers are often very similar and depend how you look at them.
Here’s a couple of ‘openings’

2. Disused
A couple of disused things … first off a special postbox – for delivery and collections. To (a) save the postman from the ½ mile, or so, trek down the hill and back up and (b) because no-one really like going close to the gunpowder factories. Not without sufficient reward.
This one even had some information, spoiler alert for later

And here’s part of an aerodrome. Not used for the past 75 years.
In WW2 it was, no doubt a hive of activity. This is, I think, a service road, not the runway!

If interested, lots more here newforestguide.uk

3. Non-green leaf
As per the Beach Boys …
All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey
I’ve been for a run on a UK spring day

Or, here’s one I made earlier … well, ‘lovingly’ tended for the last few years

4. Fleur de lys

I may have to trek off to Boldre for a pub visit soon … if only to meet the needs for a real pic …

However, here’s a placeholder, toiletries courtesy of The Fairfield House Hotel, from my times working in Ayr.

5. Information

Visitor information, and if you have any questions of a more legal or pedantic nature, please refer to the other side

And if you’re looking for the info on the old post box, here it is ….

6. Barrier
Looking surprisingly similar to those openings back at the start!
Although if you’re a horse or cow, the first is meant to be a barrier – keeping you in or out, at various times of the year

7. Spring

A couple of signs of Spring

8. Wish

A placeholder for now … I know what I want, but need to be in the right place at the right time.
A redacted village name …

I run past this a lot.

9. Trades vehicle

Parked up in the village …

10. Something beginning with your initial
Well, my real initial is M, So …
m- mast, since this is on Admiralty property, it’s a mast, not tower or aerial or any other type of pylon structure.
It’s even a microwave mast.
If it had been a Uhf Mast it would have fitted Fetch perfectly. But I won’t lie … it’s not

And for readers of my blog, here’s another you may recognise, M for me again, Met Office Weather Radar

Thanks again westmoors, a challenge this month, and not only due to the weather thrown at us.
But I may be back, I have unfinished business with a couple of those.
