Are you walking first LD? Ten minute walk before running makes a difference for me

No, I'm not but that's a good tip Dipps. The running I've been doing in the sunny weather has been off-road and had a fair bit of run-walk in it, too, which I think makes a difference. Because of the rain I stayed on pavements today, so more pounding for my foot.

Yes the looseness of my legs at the point I start increasing the load makes a big difference for me so if I’ve walked till they are loosened up first then I don’t have the same problems

A good bootcamp and running up a big hill (in 1 min intervals) on a cold, sunny day this morning. I'll try to post a couple of photos if I get organised.

My life in lockdown is so boring that I dreamt I was giving a lecture on sources of international law and I was having the time of my life.

Sounds like good advice from Dipps xx

Gorgeous views ITG :)

I have done bugger-all this morning except surf the internet, chat to family online, cry, laugh and write a blog.

I shall run soon. It is grey and mizzly.

LD part of my warm out before heading includes mobility of ankle both directions toe/ heel raises and 50 step ups on bottom stair amongst other exercises all to wake up muscle groups

Talking of waking up just slept for 11 hours ? Must have needed it !

Morning. Oops afternoon all. I had around 10 hours last night Caz, forgot to take my anti-Ds yesterday so was a bit twitchy at bedtime. Turns out I'd forgotten to take them two days in a row. Oops. Got up at midnight, took them and then took them again this morning (I usually take them every morning).........

Another advocate for wiggling / walking before running. Have a peak at my log. Since I introduced a 5/10 min walk and wiggle before running, it's really helped. Today's run will take me over 120 miles for the month, something I've only done 2 or 3 times before. The warm up and cool down definitely help. :-)

I never warm up because I'm too impatient but I have found in the past few months that my first 1-2km are really slow! I'm hardly Paula Radcliffe at the best of times but my legs and my garmin are definitely not of the same opinion regarding my pace. Then at the 3rd km it all settles down into a rhythm. I'll need to do a proper warm up (probably walking and stretching) on race days, if we ever have any of those again.

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2020 thread, everybody welcome. The thread motto is:
