Charlie’s legs aren’t long enough to be a catcher although chasing is a great game. If he did ever catch anything he wouldn’t know what to do with it - he’d probably just lick it to death.

Great photo - I thought you were maybe trying to trade a smaller stick for the bigger stick and she thought she would just keep the lot!

She has been known to carry four branches (so much more than mere twigs) at one time, desperate to keep them all. So proud. Half wit.

As a typical terrier, George is only interested in things that are alive. Once dead, he loses interest. He has only ever caught rabbits that have mixy, poor things. At least he put them out of their misery quickly.

Ralph was a good ratter he knew they weren't edible and used to kill them pretty swiftly - and then dance around barking at the body as if to say "get up and play again"

The very first time we let Wanda off the lead out on a walk (stalwarts on this thread will have heard this story many times) - other than on our local playing field where we had convinced ourselves that we had trained her to perfect recall - we did so on a footpath with a fence either side for safe containment. She jumped the fence, disappeared off across the local farmland, soon going out of sight while we ran about all over the place looking for her. Eventually she reappeared to proudly present BaronBR with the bird she had caught!
Since then there have been a few more birds and I think two rabbits. Muzzling on walks has helped immensely with the local live wildlife population although anything that's already dead is still of great interest but at least she can't pick it up.

Went for our first run with the Geordie Canicross group in the pouring rain last night. Arlo was brilliant and pulled really well as he had other dogs to chase.
Also, it's his first birthday today! Made him a cake and have a load of presents and also some party bags for some of his friends. He has the same fed up look that I do on my birthdays.

Happy birthday Arlo
You may find that with regular running, his behaviour improved. Luna is much better on walks now (although we run 6 times a week) and a lot calmer at other times.
Sometimes I just think a dog needs a job to do and luckily we have found hers!
