I personally don't subscribe to the black dog theory so I still don't know why he gets "picked on" maybe it isn't him but just one of those things?

He has some nasty bites and is quite sorry for himself, I'm keeping them clean and dressed.

Its upsetting but I'm glad he doesn't fight back or he might get into a lot more trouble.

That sounds very nasty, poor Indi.

I hope that the instructor has insisted that the attacking dog is kept on a lead or at least a long line for all future classes - I suspect that wasn't the first time it had done something like that, although perhaps not in a class situation or I would have thought the instructor would have been firmer from the start.

Poor Indi. His delightful nature (and it is a delight) is backed up by the confidence that comes from having a loving and knowledgeable owner - so I'm sure he'll bounce back... but IT SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED.

I'm surprised that a biter has got as far as a Silver class to be honest. A good dog doesn't bite from over excitement - they might mouth, but not bite.

I'm glad you were able to express your anger D., and hope Indi feels happier soonest.

Poor Indi :-(

Rory gets very over excited and bitey (with people, he's quite submissive with other dogs) - he quite frequently bruises me but he's never broken the skin or left actual teeth marks. That sounds like the other dog really meant it.

Poor Indi :(
We're currently enjoying the Northumbrian coast. Ollie loves the sea but Frankie prefers not to get his paws wet:)

Disdainful? Great pic. Ollie looks v.happy!

(Frankie appears to be on lead and Ollie not.... any reason, Thornton?)

Frankie loves other dogs, so if he sees a dog 100 yards away he's off to say hello and recall goes out of the window. It wouldn't be fair on a reactive dog and handler so if there are other dogs around we tend to keep him on his lead so we can manage who he says hello to. Ollie's recall is good and in any case he tends not to be interested in other dogs.

Love that picture. Ernie has grown up at the seaside so loves the beach more than anything else in the world. My sister's BT will avoid the sand at all costs.

D2 - it is rather worrying that the other dog's attack was so fierce it broke the skin. Poor Indi. I really hope the instructor has a firm word and that the other dog is kept on lead. I wonder if they walk it off lead out and about. The problem with the KC awards is that it is only based on their performance on the day in that one environment. We struggled to generalise the specific behaviours beyond certain settings. I presume the other dog could pass silver, despite this incident.
