According to Bookface there is a new double BG record. Dougie Zinis in 45:03:48

Was it a proper double loop or a made it route does anyone know?

Proper double loop Dave ACW first, CW second both in around 22.30. So a real proper job. At last someone has a proper record for it 😃

Dougie is a decent guy and very strong. I'm glad he's done this the way he has, hugely impressive.

A few weeks back some of you might have seen that Natalie Hawkrigg and Clare Regan posted about their "Frogman" round success on social media, basically the Bob Graham Round route but starting off with a Bassenthwaite swim and then incorporating Wastwater, Buttermere and Derwentwater swims into the schedule. It's hard and took these two tough ladies a couple of stabs at it, eventually they cracked it in about 30 hours.

Bob Graham 24-Hr club secretary and FGR member 016 Paul Wilson set off on his Frogman at 0500 this morning and looks set to be the first male contender to complete the round, I was fortunate enough to support him on leg 2 and he was going like a train, by Dunmail Raise he'd taken over an hour off his schedule. He should be somewhere around Wastwater by now. I'll try and post updates here on how he's going. This is a very big effort indeed, Paul is not the strongest swimmer in the world and he's going like a train.

That sounds like a bit of hard work.

It was flipping hard keeping up with the speedy bugger on leg 2 I can tell you. His "conservative" schedule lulled me into a false sense of security :-(
