I spend a lot of time outdoors and by water and it's only the second I've seen. Funny thing was I'd been out for a pizza, in basically my work clothes; I'm a rep, and only called by the water for an hour. It was so lucky

I also spend a lot of my time by water, but I've only seen 1 otter.

I hardly spend any time near water and I've seen 3 otters in the wild. Funny old game eh?

We've not seen our tame robin for a few days now :-( Hopefully just hiding at this time of year rather than anything worse...

Returned from Scotland to find the juvenile GSW that has been visiting my feeders and practising it's driling on the wooden beam on the front of my house :-O dead on my patio. Looks like a window impact :-( that's the second young GSW this year :-( After the first I moved the nut feeders away from the windows to try and avoid a repeat and I was enjoying it's regular visits, so more than a little gutted :-(

A pair of kingfishers flew by along the river while I was out running just now. I stopped for a while and one flew back (emitting the tell-tale whistle) and perched in a tree overhanging the river not far from me. Glorious!

I once saw cassowaries in the wild in Aus. I had to report it at the local wildlife centre. Some of the rangers were very jealous as they'd had to wait yonks for their first sighting and some pom tourist comes along and hey presto - big birds.

We had a few of these in the garden back in May. I've just got round to downloading the pics from my camera. They also had the juveniles flying round after them.

Making the most of my time in Tenby in the hours after the marathon on Sunday I booked to go on a boat trip to see seals and sea birds and saw this lovely chap hovering as I was waiting for the boat.
