Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Took my lad to his first football game at the weekend. 1-1 with Cavani scoring a late equaliser for the home team

@Chrisity

I imagine the Amorim banners are being printed in Salford already.

@Diogenes I suspect there are deluded football fans the world over.

@LipGloss I don't think it told us anything to be honest, poor opposition and we took some chances as opposed to not taking them at West Ham.

I think you're right about what it tells you, @Joopsy . We gave a few from the reserves a run out and we can't defend at the best of times. You've always had a fair bit of quality in attack and you still let in a couple of goals through mistakes/ lack of concentration. We weren't very good and you were much better, but it's not the likes of us that you need to prove anything against.

They did look a bit more relaxed and happy to be playing, though, but that's usually the case when you're strolling to a win. Not sure it's down to Ten Hag going.

A good game for your daughter to pick to get back into it though. Plenty of goals and action.

Spot on @Nellers The first ten minutes before Casemeiro scored were very familiar, very pedestrian, lots of passing from the keeper to the back four, to.midfield and back, it was much of the same, and then a belter of a goal opened the game up a bit when it needed it.

Arguably we were starting to look like we had a chance and were getting on top when Casemiro hit that opener, but that really killed us.

Ah, the beautiful game, remember that? Let's put down some jumpers and have a socially-distanced kickabout. Long shots only, and no hugging and kissing.
