Can confirm it was 9mm conditions. Good to meet larkim. I was happy enough with my race. In a league race, I think I'd have been faster as there would have been obvious packs to jump across to but there generally wasn't that marker of progress here with a constant stream of people and the couple of times there was an opportunity, I overcooked it and lost a bit after. The other thing missing for me was the recognition of individuals you have in league races that gets you to push on a bit. Ironically the one time a decent gap opened in front of me was leading into the finish. Was able to close well with some good targets ahead of me.

Didn't need spikes at all, did we! Nice to catch up there, thought walking out in my Fetch top might be the best option to say hi!! I had a minor incident in the first section, which was nicely captured for posterity on the youtube feed Decent event, fun being part of such a big crowd, shame the mud levels weren't up to much!! Anyone know of a results link? As usual for ECCA it seems a little hard to find, though I know they were mentioning it over the loudspeaker at the venue. |

My first xc race for a long time was a bit dull wasn't it? Traffic arriving was appalling. Not impressed overall. Nationals are usually much better organised than that.
