No, as I've not read any of those ones (yet), apart from the short stories I mentioned.

I loved Wolf Hall & Bring up the Bodies but didn't like A Place of Greater Safety so much.

I went with library thing because the cataloguing details were advertised on the front page, unlike Goodreads. The scanning app seems to work (that was another reason), but I think over a certain number of books a charge kicks in - it’ll take me a while to get there, because my plan to do a shelf (or pile) a day needs to become a habit, and in order for that to happen I need to start. Stepladder and dusting equipment are ready, so just waiting for me...

McG, I’ve started Out Of Sheer Rage this evening and am checking in to thank you for the recommendation. It’s like taking a tour of someone else’s house and saying “ooh, we’ve got that crockery” and “I used to have that bedding” or “I’ve always wanted one of those chairs”. I’m very much at home.

On Audio Book? I did hate Tom Holland(er?) reading Yoga For People Who Don't Want To Do It because it rendered the author's voice so hateable. But when I started that book again as a physical book I loved it. So I was concerned you might hate 'the voice'. But otherwise... I thought Out Of Sheer Rage was so like one of your blogs that you'd very likely see common ground!

Tom Hollander’s Reading hasn’t put me off yet, though I imagine it’s quite different from Dyer’s actual voice

Yes, it could be worse: it could be read by Danny Dyer.

I’m loving the Geoff Dyer. There is a superb tank about the academic study of literature. Ive just got to the point when, despite his continued pretence of not writing a book about Lawrence, the book is becoming increasingly a book about Lawrence. I’m worried he’s gone too early.

There are several sections of the Dyer that I would like to quote but, having the audiobook only, and being unable to find a pdf version from a safe source, I am unable to do so.

McG, how are you getting on with the Yoga one?
