No... some guy offered to take our photo, but he was dark haired... there was a woman with a dog and a load of folk with red jackets... I feel like I missed something? Perhaps you were just lucky |

John Kelly started a solo, unsupported mid-winter Ramsay around 15 mins ago. No one has ever done a sub-24 mid winter Ramsay in any form. live.opentracking.co.uk |

57.5 Days of Xmas
Very mild and rather breezy, probably fairly favourable for a good time.

Well he's through the Mamores over night, and must be enjoying the first glimpses of daylight as he sarts on the Loch Treig section. Hope his stomach behaves better than it did a couple of weeks ago on the Paddy. |

Is there much snow? There’s been an argument over Winter & Winter conditions before iirc. Kelly has abandoned a few runs due to stomach problems recently. |

A question for anyone that knows the route at the eastern end of the Mamores From the summit of Sgurr Eilde Mor, I've often wondered when watching trackers why runners don't descend SE/SSE straight down to the landrover track along side Loch Eilde Mor. Would that not be a faster way of reaching Luibelt, rather than descending the NE ridge ? I don't imagine there's much of a path down the NE ridge, but perhaps it's not that bouldery and is actually quite runnable ? I think I've seen 1 or 2 do my suggestion on a clockwise round, but not on a acw one. I guess I need to go and recce both options to satisfy my curiosity |

Ally - this gives an indication of the snow coverage at 1100mm in Glencoe yesterday afternoon - not that much and more will have melted overnight. |

Can’t remember the name of the guy, he’s English & a school teacher, runs for Carnethy. Went to a talk about the history of the Ramsay round and his round, at the Kendall Film Festival once, it was very good. |

Ally are you thinking of Jonny Muir, the author of amongst other books The Mountains Are Calling?
